The Joy FM, stylized as The JOY FM, is a Christian adult contemporary radio network, owned by Radio Training Network. The Joy FM serves Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, with multiple different stations and translators. The Joy FM has four genres, The JOY FM, JOY Worship, Classic Joy, and LF Radio, and every year, it flips to an all-Christmas format on the day after Thanksgiving and continues it through Christmas Day.

History[edit]

The Joy FM first launched in 1986 on WJIS in the Sarasota-Bradenton area. Since then, it has launched many other stations and translators across the southeast United States. Some of its biggest expansions were into Orlando and Tallahassee[1] [2]. In 2021, Radio Training Network purchased numerous stations across the southeast to expand even further [3]

The Joy FM is listener-supported and hosts Sharathons each year to promote giving to the station.

On January 12, 2023, The Joy FM suffered an incident in Atlanta, Georgia. In the Atlanta metropolitan area, a tornado struck the WVFJ tower and took the radio station off the air for a couple of days[4]. The tower was fully repaired a few days later and the station came back on the air [5]
