Early Life

She began training in martial arts at a young age. Joy grew up in Stonyford, California and graduated from Willows High School. She has been training and actively competing for over 7 years in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She is a decorated competitor, winning many major tournaments including the IBJJF Pan and World Championships. She is a regular on the Fight to Win Pro circuit, and is sponsored by Revgear Jiu Jitsu.

Career

Pendell competed as an amateur mixed martial artist from 2019 to 2023, compiling a record of 5 wins and two losses. She defeated Laurynn Garcia, Julie Alonso, Carlene Chandler, Nawal Kassir, and Cierra Lundy. She lost her professional MMA debut in 2023.
