Life: Joyita B Chatterje was born at Khowai city in Tripura. She was very skillful in dancing, singing and recitation from her very childhood, as she was brought up in cultural atmosphere. Her maternal uncle was folk singer. She learned her first singing lesson from her mother Jharna Gupta Bal. In the later years she enhanced her singing skill under two renowned rabindrasangeet singers Gitu Deb and Nanda Chowdhury. Abhijit Basu was the mentor of Joyita's folk singing skill. She passed her 10th standard from Khowai girls school. Afterwards she was graduated from Victoria institution in bengali literature and completed her masters from Tripura university. Joyita was a teacher in two renowned english medium school in Agartala, Tripura for some years. After her marriage she came in Cuttack and kept her singing on seriously. Joyita's singing album 'Montara' became very popular which was composed and written by Nirmalya Biswas. She has done many play back singing in short film like 'sukher thikana', 'ondher prem', 'kritrim belly', 'alor khoje'. Among them for the song 'vola mon' from the short film 'ondher prem' she got best play back singer in digital wanderland international short film festival.
Awards: Joyita has got so many awards in her singing life. Among them the notable award is Tara news international award for the singing album Montara, Rewa saraswat somman, Ctn tv channel award.
