Juan Carlos Polanco
Juan Carlos “J.C.” Polanco is an American attorney, political television contributor, and adjunct professor of Business, History, and Latino Studies at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City.[1][2][3] He is the managing attorney of Polanco Law, PLLC, and founder of The Polanco Organization, a management and marketing parent company of HuskyExecutive.com.[1][2][4]
Polanco grew up in the Fordham neighborhood of The Bronx and attended Fordham Preparatory School. He graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999 with a degree in History and Political Science.[5] Polanco returned to the Bronx to teach social studies at Harry S. Truman High School.[2] While an NYC public school teacher, Polanco was a candidate for the State Assembly and completed a law degree and MBA at Fordham University School of Law and Gabelli School of Business, respectively.[2][5]
Polanco served as the Director for the New York City Regional Office in the State Assembly.[1][6] In 2007 and again in 2009, the NYC Council appointed Polanco as a commissioner to the New York City Board of Elections from the Bronx.[7] In 2012 he became the first Dominican-American to be elected as President of the Board of Elections.[8] In 2017, Polanco was the first Dominican-American to run for a citywide office, Public Advocate, on a major party ticket in New York City.[2][3][9]
