Jubilee Media
Jubilee is a YouTube channel with over 8 million subscribers as of May 2023.[1] Jubilee's content is surrounded around human interaction and beliefs. Some of their quotes are, "Provoke understanding & create human connection," "Humans welcome," and "Have empathy."[2]
The organization originated with it being founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization. It then transitioned into a for-profit media company in 2017. Some of their most popular series include:
- Jubilee Spectrum - A series where people from a certain group (i.e. teen moms) are brought together and given deep or controversial prompts. They are then instructed to stand on a line consisting of either Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Somewhat Disagree, Somewhat Agree, Agree, and Strongly Agree. The participants then elaborate on why they answered such way. The most popular Spectrum video is "Do all teen moms think the same?"[3]
- Middle Ground - A series bringing people from opposite stances on a certain issue (i.e. conservatives vs. liberals) and asking numerous prompts to which they take a seat in the spotlight if they agree. The participants then discuss their views, and the disagreers then come forward and add into the conversation. The most popular Middle Ground video, with over 24 million views, is "Flat Earthers vs Scientists: Can We Trust Science?"[4]
- Odd Man Out - A series bringing together 6-8 people claiming to be a certain thing (i.e. vegans), but one of them (the mole) is secretly not. If the mole is eliminated before the end of the game, the mole wins all of the money. If they other participants successfully eliminate the mole before the end of the game, they split the prize money. The most popular Odd Man Out video is "6 White People vs 1 Secret Black Person".[5]
