Judit Kutasi

Judit Kutasi (born October 30, 1986) is a Romanian operatic and dramatic mezzo-soprano.

Life and career[edit]

She began to study music in private in 1997 when she was 11 years old with a piano teacher from her hometown. After one year she started studying cello and piano at the National College of Art ″Ion Vidu″ from Timisoara. In 2000 she began to study voice with a local soprano Viorica Pop-Ivan and after entering in high school she studied with Prof. Lacramioara Zandomeni. In 2009 she got her Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Arts-University of Oradea under guidance of Prof. Dr. Lavinia Chereches, and in 2011 Master's degree in Singing at Music Academy ″Ghe. Dima″ Cluj- Napoca under guidance of Prof Dr. Marius-Vlad Budoiu. Troughout her studies you could hear Judit Kutasi in many concerts and recitals, and in roles like Dido from Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell, Bertha from Il Barbiere di Sevilla by G. Rossini, Marcellina from Le Nozze di Figaro by W. A Mozart, Dritte Dame from Die Zauberflöte by W.A Mozart, Maddalena from Rigoletto by G. Verdi, Fenena from Nabucco by G. Verdi.

In 2011 and 2012, Kutasi performed at the Internationale Opernwerkstatt in Switzerland, in Sigriswill, in Bern and Thun, after a great succes, in 2013 she became a member of the Inernationale Opern Sudio in Zürich and from 2014 until 2016 she can be heard as a soloist in the Ensemble of the Zürich Opera House.[1]

Throughout 2013 and 2014 she made several appearances at the Zürich Opera House, notably in the roles of Mary from Der Fliegende Holländer by R. Wagner with maestro Constantin Trinks, Eine Stimme von oben/ Stimmen der ungeborenen- Die Frau ohne Schatten by R. Strauss with maestro Peter Tiling, Wokle from La Fanciulla del West by G. Puccini with maestro Marco Armiliato, Dritte Dame from Die Zauberflöte by W. A Mozart with maestro Cornelius Meister, Alisa from Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizzeti with maestro Nello Santi, Fischverkäuferin, Dritter Herr, Handleserin from Juliette Ou la cles des songes by B. Martinu with maestro Fabio Luisi and producer Andreas Homoki.

In 2015, Kutasi made her debut at Teatro Massimo di Palermo- Italy with Urlica from Un Ballo In Maschera by G. Verdi, with maestro Paolo Arrivabeni and producer Massimo Gasparon.
