Judson Baptist College was a private non-profit 4-year University that was founded to serve the growing baptist Community in the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1956 in the location where Portland Bible College is located today.[1] This college is considered defunct and non operational. Closing its doors in 1985 due to low enrollment and lacking funds.

History[edit]

In the early 1980s the college moved to The Dalles, Oregon into the facility of the Columbia Park Hospital and Training Center.[2]

In 1985 Judson Baptist College closed its doors after falling enrollment and lack of funds.[3]

The Columbia Park Hospital campus is now the campus of Columbia Gorge Community College.

Athletics and Culture[edit]

Judson Baptist is known to have multiple sports teams in its history such as baseball[4], basketball[5], and soccer. The School competed in the NAIA and NCCAA Division of sports.[4] While there is little to no records online direclty from Judson Baptist, there is a few soruces of information from other instations such as George Fox University and the Oregon Institute of Technology who have records of their teams playing Judson Baptist in the early 1980s. Which includes records of a baseball game lasting 13 innings.[6] The school's mascot was the 'Lancers'. The college also had a college of music. Being a religious institution much of the music that has been digitized are religious hymns and songs sung by the schools choir.[7]
