John Junior Fred Ogbonnaya, known by his stage name Juest, is an American singer and songwriter. He was born on June 23, 2010, in Norfolk, Virginia. Juest is of Nigerian-American heritage, and his background influences his music.[1]
Juest became popular in 2023 when his song "Fires" went viral. People liked the song for its emotional lyrics and melody. Although "Fires" was later removed, it helped Juest become known to a wider audience. The song's success led to Juest winning the Eko Heritage Award for Best New Artist.[2] This award marked an important moment in his music career.[3][4]
Juest's music mixes themes like love, loss, and resilience with elements of his cultural heritage. His ability to create songs that connect with listeners has gained attention.
