Juhi Smita (born 14 December 1987 Deoghar, Jharkhand) is an Indian journalist.[1] She is associated with Prabhat Khabar[2] and covers gender and social justice topics. She also covers the issues related to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Women and Child Development and Agriculture.[3] [4]
Early life and education
Juhi Smita was born in Deoghar, Jharkhand on 14th December 1987 and brought up by Kamal Rajak and Sangeeta Prasad in Jharkhand, raised in a middle class family.[5] She studied Mass Communication and earned her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication & Journalism from NRAI School of Mass Communication, Management & Technology and Master of Arts in Mass Communication degrees from Ranchi University.[6]
Career
Juhi started her career in journalism with Prabhat Khabar in November 2016 and later worked with Campus Varta. She also writes on the changing rural India in a digital age.[7][8] She is also Co-founder of Women School of Entrepreneurship, which aims to fuel entrepreneurial leadership spirit in last mile girls and women.[9][10]
Awards and Recognition
She was a recipient of The Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity 2021 in the Hindi Print for ‘Mahilaon ko intezar, unke swasthya, shiksha aur aarthik nitiyon par kaun karega baat’, published in ‘Prabhat Khabar, Patna’.[11][12]
