Julia E. Vogt (born May 23, 1982) is a tenure-track[jargon] assistant professor at ETH Zürich at the Department of Computer Science, where she is heading the Medical Data Science Group.[1] Before joining ETH Zürich, she was an assistant professor at the University of Basel, and prior to that a postdoctoral fellow at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and a postdoctoral researcher with the Bioinformatics and Information Mining group at the University of Konstanz.[2][3] She earned a master's degree in mathematics at the University of Konstanz, and a PhD from the University of Basel under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Volker Roth. Her research activity concerns the development of machine learning techniques for precision medicine, the life sciences, and biomedical data analysis. [4] [5][6][7]
She received several notable awards such as an award of the German Association for Pattern Recognition (DAGM prize) in September 2010[8], and an award of the International Conference on Machine Learning in June 2010.[9]
