Juliann Ma

Juliann Ma is a Taiwanese-American pianist and interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. She has garnered numerous awards and distinctions over the course of her career. The most recent among them is the 2016 Pro Musicis International Award, an award granted for the awardee's high level of performance demonstrating artistic inspiration and passion for social outreach.[1]
Career and Recognition[edit]
In November 2017, she debuted in Carnegie Hall with her program "Rise, Awaken" which gave tribute to the beauty and fragility of nature and the impact of urban development on the environment.[2] Since her debut, she has been cultivating an organization called SEAS "Sustainable Environment through the Arts and Sciences," whose mission is to spread awareness about the various impacts of climate change - through multidisciplinary, artistic interpretation of scientific studies.[3]
Juliann graduated from Stanford University with a major in music and minor in creative writing, and from the Juilliard School with a Master of Music. She is also a Fulbright Scholar who was awarded the Diplôme d’Exécution de Piano from the École Normale Supérieure de Paris Alfred Cortot.[4]
