Julien Guillamat
Julien Guillamat (born in 1981 near Toulouse) is a French composer of electroacoustic music and contemporary classical music.
He studied cello, chamber music and music theory in France at the conservatoire of Montpellier as well as musicology at the Paul Valéry University, Montpellier III and composition at the University of Birmingham with professor Jonty Harrison (PhD). Teachers include Gisèle Clément, Makis Solomos, Vic Hoyland, Annette Vande Gorne, Benjamin Thigpen and Scott Wilson.
In 2014 he founds the loudspeaker orchestra KLANG! acousmonium and becomes artistic director of the maison des arts sonores in Montpellier. He teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Mons in Belgium and he is resident composer at the Opéra national de Montpellier since 2016.
