Columbia University {{PhD) }} Jung H. Pak is the SK-Korea Foundation Chair in Korean Studies, only one of three in the world, and Senior Fellow at Brookings.

She is a former portfolio manager, East Asia & Pacific Mission Centre, Central Intelligence Agency, and deputy national intelligence officer at the National Intelligence Council in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). Prior to serving as an intelligence professional, Pak also worked as an adjunct assistant professor of American history at Hunter College.[1][2]

Pak received her BA from Colgate University and PhD in United States history from Columbia University.[3]

Publications[edit]

Pak wrote hundreds of intelligence assessments and papers on several issues, including leadership, foreign policy, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and East Asia's regional security. At Brookings, Pak authored "The Education of Kim Jong-un", in which she analyzes how Kim's educational background and upbringing informs his policies.[4]
