Jungle Scout
Jungle Scout is a privately-owned SaaS company headquartered in Austin, Texas.[1][2] It is a product research and business management platform for selling on Amazon. Jungle Scout was the first Amazon product research tool on the market.[3]
History
Jungle Scout was founded in February 2015 by Greg Mercer.[4] Mercer worked with a developer to build an algorithm that could estimate Amazon sales numbers. He packaged this algorithm into a software extension for Chrome browsers and sold it as the first Jungle Scout product.[5] The project was bootstrapped.[6]
In September 2015, Jungle Scout released a self-titled web application. In December of that year, the company built Review Kick, an email automation software and Amazon deal site (later rebranded to “Jump Send”[7] and then “Launch”[8] when integrated within the company’s web application).
In April 2016, Jungle Scout acquired Splitly and Fetcher, an A/B testing and analytics tool, respectively.[9] In March 2018, the company built Jungle Market, an Amazon-specific freelancer marketplace.[10] In May 2018, it acquired Forecastly, an inventory management software.
Jungle Scout provides a web application for product research, supplier research, keyword research, email automation, sales analytics, inventory management, and educational videos, as well as a Chrome browser extension.[11]
Jungle Scout operated remotely from February 2015 to June 2019[2] until it opened offices in Vancouver, B.C.; Austin, Texas; and Shenzhen, China.[12][13]
In 2020, Jungle Scout won America’s Best Startup Employers 2020 by Forbes[14], G2 Winter Leader award[15], and G2 Best Online Marketplace Optimization Tools.[16] Greg Mercer was an EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 Award Finalist[17] and was awarded The Software Report’s Top 50 SaaS CEOs of 2020.[18]
In 2019, the company won the ACG Central Texas Growth Award.[19] Mercer won The Top 50 SaaS CEOs of 2019[20] and was also a finalist for the 2019 Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year Award.[21]
In 2017, Mercer won Best Amazon Expert by The Seller Awards.[22]
In 2022, Jungle Scout became one of the most awarded tools used by Amazon Sellers.
