Junias Erasmus is a Namibian Academic, a Strategic Consultant and a Transformational Coach. Erasmus is an Adjunct Faculty at University of Namibia (UNAM) and International University of Management (IUM). At UNAM, Erasmus supervises research in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Human Resources and Business Administration in the Faculty of Economics and Management Science; while teaching Computer Mediated Communications, Mass Media and Media Liaison & Speech Writing in the Faculty of Humanities, Information and Communication Department.
Career[edit]
At International University of Management (IUM), Erasmus teaches Innovations in Public Management, Systems Synthesis and Policy Analysis, to Master of Public Policy and Management in the Department of Strategic Management. He also teaches Corporate Governance & Social Responsibility, Organizational Development and Change Management to the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) students . He further teaches Leading Change in Digital Age to school Principals and Heads of Departments that are pursuing an Honours Degree in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy. Finally, He teaches; law and ethics to the Master of Science in Tourism and Hospitality, and Operations Management to the undergraduates, that are doing an Honours Degree in Finance Management, Human Recourses and Business Administration.[1].
Prior to joining UNAM and IUM team, Erasmus was a Visiting Voluntary Lecturer at UNAM Business School (NBS), where he taught Diploma in Strategic Project Management, Media Liaison And Speech Writing. [2] . Erasmus worked for Green Team Consultants as a Project Manager for Land Use Planning. He further worked for the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) as a Senior Communication Specialist in the Strategic Communications Department, where he was responsible for championing the Strategic Direction for Corporate Communications, Marketing and Preserving the Agency’s Image[3].
Erasmus worked in the Office of The President (National Planning Commission) as the Chief (Control) Information Officer. At Kuik Media, Erasmus served as Head of Marketing Communications. He further worked for Bank of Namibia and Telecom Namibia, and later as an Independent Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Consultant, giving Strategic Human Resources Management Consultancy to different corporate companies, while providing leadership and direction in Project Management, Change Management, Human Capital and Corporate Affairs. Erasmus served as a Board Member of Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA-Namibia), a body thus responsible for regulating Communications in Southern Africa. He further served as an Executive for Strategic Communication at Namibia Internet Society (ISOC).
Education[edit]
Erasmus is currently doing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Honours with the University of Namibia (UNAM). He holds a Master of Public Administration and Management from University of Namibia; specializing in Strategic Project Development Planning, Management and Organizational Behaviors. He has a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree from Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), his studies focused on Public Relations and Corporate Communication. He also has a National Diploma from NUST, where he focused on Website Design and Development. Erasmus studied Media and Global Agenda at International Center for Media & the Public Agenda (ICMPA), Salzburg Global Academy , in Austria[4]. He further acquired a certificate in Intellectual Property from the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence; Neural Networks, Computer vision and Speech from the NUST Business Innovation Center.
