Jurii Kirnev
Jurii Kirnev (born 3 February 1989) is a writer, artist and musician from Hungary known for his gothic literature, comic books and music.
Kirnev is living in Budapest. In 2011 he graduated from film school in Paris, majoring in screenwriting and film directing. He directed experimental short films, documentaries for Hungarian television and wrote various literary works. Most of them are in the Russian language. Kirnev's most notable novel is "Lips coloured in blood" (Russian: Губы цвета крови).[1][2]
In 2017 he published a graphic novel "Vanity"[3][4] about the Hungarian serial killer Elizabeth Bathory. On this project, Kirnev collaborated with artist Abigail Larson and writer Mark Rein-Hagen, the creator of Vampire: The Masquerade.[5][6] The graphic novel was published in Hungary and is now being reprinted in the United States through the Black Caravan publisher, the Scout Comics imprint.[7] Kirnev is the author of many other graphic novels, such as "The Corset"[8][9] and "Hotel Noir".
In 2022 Jurii Kirnev released his music album "Gothesque"[10], collaborating with Dmitry Lykov, the founder of "Tears of Heaven" gothic metal music band.
