Just Done Productions Publishers is a book publisher with a head office in Durban, South Africa which focuses on niche topics and short-run printing of their books.

Founding[edit]

Just Done Productions was founded in 2004,[1] by John Dovey[2] but only started publishing properly in 2006 with their first major titles, "Borderstrike!" and "Journey Without Boundaries".

Vision[edit]

Their initial vision was to create an opportunity for authors to get published whose works would not normally be seen as commercially viable by the large publishing houses, and to do so in a way that was affordable but still produced a quality product. This vision is most eloquently expressed in their vision statement which reads "The history of the nation is the voices of the people".[1] The wide variety of subject matter of the books that they have published has proven that this vision is a valid one and they fulfill a valuable role, bringing stories that would otherwise go unheard out into the public space.

Manuscript Selection[edit]

While Just Done consider everything that is submitted to them, they will reject works that are legally or morally problematic. They also insist that books are well edited.[1]
