Kārlis Šiliņš (born 22 July 1997) is a Latvian professional basketball player, who plays the center position. He currently plays for BK Liepāja.[1]

NCAA career[edit]

After graduating highschool in Latvia, Kārlis joined Ole Miss, but later transferred to Florida Atlantic.[2] While in college, Šiliņš tored his ACL twice.[3]

Professional career[edit]

First experience at pro level Šiliņš gained while still in highschool, playing for BK Barons in the Latvian League. [4] After NCAA career he returned to his homeland, signing a two year contract with BK Liepāja.[5] With his performances, Šiliņš was named the Latvian-Estonian League MVP of the Month in October 2022 and again in January 2023.

National team[edit]

Šiliņš played for Latvian junior team in 2015 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship.[6] In July 2020 Kārlis played for Latvia in the Baltic Way Cup. In 2022, after great performances in the local league, he was included in the Latvian NT candidate list for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers but didn't make the team.[7]
