Ka-Chun WONG is a Hong Kong scientist working in Bioinformatics and Data Science.
He is a professor known for his research in Sequence motif and Natural computing. He also teaches bioinformatics and data science courses in Hong Kong.
Education[edit]
Ka-Chun Wong was born and raised in Hong Kong. As the first generation under Mother-tongue education in Hong Kong, he has managed to score for multiple A grades in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination and Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination including (Pure Mathematics and Physics) in English. With such scores, he had choices for admitting into all majors in Hong Kong. After graduating from United College at CUHK with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering and a Master of Philosophy in Computer Science and Engineering, he has moved to KAUST for a one-year life break next to Red Sea on the side of Saudi Arabia. Then, he did a PhD in Computer Science at University of Toronto with 3 years.
Research[edit]
He does research in the field of bioinformatics and data science. In particular, his research is best-known for regulatory genomics, evolutionary computation, single-cell transcriptomics, and cancer informatics.
