Kai Nakano Rasmussen (June 7, 1996) is a Japanese-American botanist who is a researcher in the emerging field of astrobotany.[1]
Rasmussen is a researcher in the NASA funded Gilroy Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.[2] His research involves peroxidases and the role that they play in spaceflight plant biology.
In addition to his spaceflight research, Rasmussen manages astrobotany.com,[3] the online resource for spaceflight plant biologists. He also works on space media art outreach[4] and assisting in the development of spaceflight data bioinformatic tools.
