Kalato Holts (born September 11, 1973) is an American nurse practitioner, aesthetic injector, and hormone provider based in Atlanta, Georgia.[1] She is the owner of Holts Healthcare PC and is known for her "Beauty Inside Out" approach to medical aesthetics, which combines hormone replacement therapy with non-surgical aesthetic treatments, with a focus on melanin-rich skin.[2]
Early life and education
Holts was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1991.[3] She began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working in wound care. She graduated from Bishop State Community College in 1998 and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in 2009. In 2011, she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner education at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and in 2012 she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).[3] She is a United States Navy veteran.[2]
Career
Holts has worked in critical care, Neuro ICU nursing, home-based health assessments, wound care, and the management of complex and chronic wounds.[3] She later specialized in medical aesthetics, working as an aesthetic injector and hormone provider.[2]
Her clinical approach, which she calls "Beauty Inside Out," emphasizes treating hormones on the inside and the face, body, hair, and skin on the outside as a single plan.[2] She has a particular focus on melanin-rich skin and has spoken about the importance of choosing devices and treatment settings appropriate for darker skin tones.[2]
Holts owns Holts Healthcare PC, a family nurse practitioner practice in Fayetteville, Georgia.[4] She practices as an independent contractor and does not own or operate a medical practice.[2]
Personal life
Holts was born Kalato Dedeaux in New Orleans, the youngest of nine children.[3] She is a wife and mother.[2] In 2009, she developed Bell's palsy, which led to her interest in facial anatomy and medical aesthetics.[2]
