Lee has a background as a vocalist and bass player in several metal/alternative bands since 2006. He has produced electronic music inspired by 80s movies like *The NeverEnding Story*, *The Flight Of The Navigator*, and *Legend*. He uses a variety of software retro synths in his productions. Since his debut EP *Journey* (2013), he has released two EPs and two full-length albums, the latest of which is *Kalax* (Self-titled), and has performed several live shows. Several of his tracks will also be featured in the 2018 documentary *ROBODOC. A Robocop Documentary*.
Kalax released his second full-length album *Kalax* on 10 April 2017 on a range of formats including Digibook CD, vinyl, and cassette tape. The album was met with generally positive reviews, with 'New Retro Wave' writing in praise of it, giving it a top 10 album of the year 2017, and top 10 artists of the year 2017. The vinyl version of the album also included a bonus track from his debut EP *Journey*.
Kal became interested in music in part due to the influence of his mother's cassette and vinyl collection. His father was also in a band as a singer in the 80s and performed all over the UK. That’s how his parents met. Kal grew up heavily on 80s music and film.
