Kalina Rangers is a Mumbai-based football club founded in 1982 and re-established in 2016. The club has made a name for itself in Indian and international amateur football, having won over 570 local and national tournaments and represented India in six countries across four continents. Kalina Rangers competes in the Mumbai Premier League (Elite Division), organised by the Mumbai Football Association.
The club has produced professional players who now compete in the Indian Super League (ISL) and the Hero I-League, and has also sent players to represent India in international futsal competitions.
History
Kalina Rangers was initially formed in 1982 as a community-based football team from Kalina, Mumbai. After a brief period of dormancy, the club was revived in 2016, bringing back its legacy and redefining grassroots football in the region.
Kalina Rangers’ resurgence saw immediate success. They dominated local tournaments and quickly rose to become a formidable force in national-level 5-a-side, 7-a-side, and futsal tournaments. Their victories earned them repeated invitations to Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five World Finals[1], where they represented India in Brazil, and other global events across Qatar, South Africa, China, the Philippines, and England.
