Kalle Sauerland
Kalle Sauerland (born 14. April 1977) is a boxing promoter and one of the founders of the World Boxing Super Series, a bracket-style elimination tournament.
Sauerland is a shareholder of Team Sauerland, one of Europe´s biggest boxing stables, where he has promoted boxers like Nikolai Valuev, Alexander Povetkin, George Groves, Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler.[1] His father Wilfried Sauerland is an inductee in the boxing hall of fame.
In 2009, Sauerland was one of the creators of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, a round-robin boxing tournament televised by Showtime Sports.[2]
In March 2017, Sauerland unveiled the plans to launch the World Boxing Super Series, also known as the Muhammad Ali Trophy.[3]
According to Business Insider UK, the two champions of the competition's first edition 'will bank the lions share of $50m (£38.4 million)'.[3]
Sauerland was born in Germany and raised in London. He is married with two children and lives in Hamburg and London.
