- Kallista Primary School won the Warragul most improved garden award for the gardening in the gardening inspectorate in 1951.[9][10]
- In 2018 electronic speed signs were put in place to ensure children's safety around the roads and crossings[11][12] There were petitions for these signs to be made for years by parents, since around 2016.[13][14]
- The school's centenary was in 2019, when they celebrated 100 years of Kallista Primary School.[15][9]
- In 2019, the school put forward a design to get funding for, for The Inclusive Schools Fund. The design was for a sensory area for children to have a calm environment.[16]
Kitchen-garden Program[edit]
- In 2008 the Stephanie Alexander kitchen-garden program was brought to Kallista Primary School.[17]
- The kitchen-garden program teaches the children about cooking and gardening, which are useful skills to have.[18][19]
- The children use recipes from the Stephanie Alexander books[20]
