Kalsoom Lakhani1

Kalsoom Lakhani is a Pakistani-American businesswoman who is current founder and CEO of Invest2Innovate, an organisation that supports start-up companies in the emerging markets.[1][2]

Education and career[edit]

Lakhani did her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in Foreign Affairs and Middle East Studies, and then received a degree of Master of Arts from the Elliott School of International Affairs in International Affairs/Conflict Resolution.[3][4]

Lakhani founded a blog website, Changing Up Pakistan in January 2008[2] and then served as the director of Social Vision from June 2008 to August 2011.[3]

She worked as managing editor at Think Change-Pakistan prior to founding Invest2Innovate in September 2011.[3]

Recognition[edit]

Lakhani was a member of World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers[5] and a co-ambassador from Washington, D.C. for Sandbox.[4]

In September 2012, she was featured in Foreign Policy's 99 young leaders under 33.[6]

In September 2013, The Express Tribune featured her among the "women who outshine in Pakistan’s tech industry".[4] In February 2016, The Nation featured her among the "10 young Pakistan entrepreneurs who deserve appreciation".[7]
