The three Shinto kami worshiped in Category:Kumano_faith in the Kumano region of Wakayama, Japan. Each Kumano shrine enshrines multiple of these deities. They are collectively referred to as Sansho Gongen (三所権現) or Kumano Jyūnisho Gongen (熊野十二所権現). Kumano Faith carries Shinbutsu-shūgō influences. Their divine messenger animal is the Yatagarasu.[1]

Kumano Hayatama Ōkami[edit]

Kumano Hayatama Ōkami is enshrined at Kumano Hayatama Taisha. He is thought to be a later form of Hayatama-no-O of the Nihon Shoki.[2]:34 Kumano Hayatama Ōkami is a kami of purification and health, and equated to Izanagi.[2]:36 According to Honji suijaku theory, Kumano Hayatama Ōkami is an emanation of [[Bhaisajyaguru].

Kumano Fusumi Ōkami[edit]

Kumano Fusumi Ōkami (熊野夫須美大神) is enshrined at Nachi Taisha. She is often equated with Izanami.[2]:58 In Shinto-Buddhist syncretism, she is viewed as Onamochi emanating from Senju Kannon.:60 [2] Her goshintai is the Nachi Falls, and her worship centers around wishing for longevity.[2]:61

Ketsumiko no Ōkami[edit]

Ketsumiko no Ōkami (家津御子大神) is enshrined at Kumano Hongū Taisha. Ketsumiko no Ōkami is thought to be a kami of food, sailing, trees, and the underworld.[2] He is equated with Susanoo and in Shinto-Buddhist syncretism, he is an emanation of Amitābha.[2]:80 He is said to originally have descended onto Ōyunohara, where the shrine was originally located until a flooding in 1889, when it was moved to its current location.[3] Kuki Ietaka, the head priest of Kumano Hongū Taisha, considers his shrine to be a place of rebirth.[2]:86
