Kamilo "Milo" Tongamoa (born March 20, 1996) is an American football defensive tackle for the New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League (USFL). He played his junior and senior seasons of college football at Iowa State.
Early life and High school career[edit]
Tongamoa was born on March 20, 1996 in Van Nuys, California. He attended John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, where he played basketball and football. His football accolades included All-Conference Performer and the CIF Los Angeles Section Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.[1]
College career[edit]
Merced Community College[edit]
Tongamoa played two years for the Merced Community College Blue Devils. He was ranked the 4th-best junior college defensive tackle by 247Sports.[1]
Iowa State[edit]
Kamilo was offered scholarships to Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon and Texas but committed to Iowa State University. His team positions included defensive tackle and nose guard. He played four games during 2017 and recorded one tackle. In his 2018 season, Tongamoa played nine games and recorded two tackles. While at Iowa State, Tongamoa was a Liberal Studies major.[1]
Professional career[edit]
United States Football League (2022-present)[edit]
After going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, Tongamoa was signed to the 2022 revival of the USFL as a member of the New Orleans Breakers.[2]
Personal life[edit]
On January 28, 2018, Tongamoa was arrested on four different charges, including one count of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). Tongamoa's arrest also carried charges including striking an unattended vehicle, failure to have valid license or permit while operating a motor vehicle and failure to prove security against liability. He was booked on January 28, at 2:38 a.m and held on a $1,900 bond. Tongamoa was released later the same day.[3]
