Kamino Running Co.
Kamino Running Co., also known as Kamino Running Club, is a community-based running organization based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.[1] Founded in November 2023, it organizes weekly social runs, structured workouts, and local race events for runners of all levels. Coverage in local media and inclusion in regional running directories indicate its emerging role in the Tri-Cities running community.[2]
History
Kamino Running Co. was established in November 2023 by Daniel Simpson, who identified a gap in local services for runners in Coquitlam and surrounding areas.[3] The name derives from El Camino Drive, the street where Simpson grew up. In early 2024, the club began hosting free weekly social runs and paid membership workouts, gradually building attendance through social media promotion and partnerships with local fitness facilities.[4] By December 2024, Kamino expanded to organizing its first standalone road race event at Mundy park, the “Rudolph Run.”[5]
Events

In March 2025, Kamino Running Co. organized the Royal Rocky Point Race in Port Moody, a 5-km event intended to bolster local running community engagement and highlight scenic routes in the Tri-Cities area.[2] This marked the club’s first standalone race event and was covered by Tri-City News, noting the goal of boosting vibrancy in the regional running community.
As of June 2025, the next event is scheduled for 1 July 2025 at Gates Park in Port Coquitlam, offering both 5 km and 10 km run options open to participants of all fitness levels.[6]
