Kanal D2 is the second channel of the holding company Doğan Media International, which owns the TV station Kanal D Romania. It replaced București TV, station owned by "Best Mix Media", which also owns Travel Mix Channel, 24 Mix Teleshop, and Party Mix. It was launched on 27 March 2023 in tests at 9:20 and was officially released on 2 April 2023 at 7:00 p.m. It broadcasts season 8 of Bravo, Ai Stil! and Yanxi, palatul suspinelor (which was before TVR 1). It is available on all cable networks where București TV used to be.

On 10 November 2022, according to tvmania.ro, it was announced that the channel Kanal D2 will replace București TV, and according to the same sources it will broadcast period series, drama series, action series, artistic films and Romanian films.

The station Kanal D2 was launched on 2 April 2023, in honor of the 16th anniversary of Kanal D and broadcast the 8th season of the show "Bravo, ai stil!", moved from Kanal D Romania, at Kanal D2.
