November 2016, Kandao Obsidian 3D VR camera wins CES 2017 Best of Innovation Award.[1]
October 2017, Kandao Obsidian Triumphs in Excellent Product Design at the German Design Award 2018.[2]
May 2018, Kandao QooCam wins Red Dot Design Award 2018.
April 2018, Kandao QooCam wins IF design award 2018.
September 2018, KanDao rolled out 8K 3D VR Live system and got the investment of FoxConn.
August 2019, KanDao released KanDao Meeting, an all-in-one 360 conference camera.
November 2019, KanDao released QooCam 8K, a 360 camera capable of taking 8K videos and images.[6]
Products
Obsidian R/S
Announced in July 2017. Both of R and S can produce high quality 3D 360 photos and videos. Obsidian S has a frame rate up to 120fps, which made it a suitable choice for recording action scenes. The video quality of Obsidian R is up to 8K. Obsidian S/R camera works perfectly with Kandao Studio, an intelligence stitching software developed by Kandao.
Obsidian Go
Released in Sep. 2017. It is a professional 360 camera equipped with 6 synced fisheye lens. With
Obsidian Go APP, users can easily adjust parameters via Go. Also, users can stitch their Go files in KandaoStudio. Go is of easy operation and is a suitable choice for VR beginners.
QooCam
KandaoVR released QooCam in 2018. QooCam has a 3-lens design, which enables it to take videos/photos in 360/3D modes. Users can get depth maps out of 3D QooCam photos in QooCam Studio. Also, with QooCam APP, users can get photos and videos stitched and shared quickly.
Kandao 8K Live Solution
Kandao announced 8K live solution in April 2018 in NAB show.[7]
Kandao Raw+
Kandao Raw+ is an editing software that can be used to improve noise and stability of raw images. It helps to add more details and dynamic range to raw images. It is compatible with not only Kandao products files, but also any other raw files. Kandao Raw+ can deal with up to 16 images at the same time by merging images automatically for more details and less noise.
Kandao Meeting
KanDao Meeting is a 360 degree conference camera, KanDao rolled it out in August 2019.
QooCam 8K
QooCam 8K is released in November 2019. It is a small 8K 360 degree camera capable of shooting 10 bit videos and 12-bit raw stills. It features a 2.4 inch LED display, which allows users to
change basic settings. Users can preview and edit files via QooCam APP.[9]
