Karan Puri

Karan Puri is an Indian author and columnist. His debut novel was titled “Shit Happens – Desi Boy in America”. It was published by Prakash Books. The novel received accolades from the likes of MJ Akbar and was an instant best seller within the first year of release. It also made it to the top 20 India Today Best seller lists in early 2012. Currently, after penning the book and utilising the digital revolution, he published the ebook version of his next book, #Metoo, on Amazon KDP Platform during the lockdown amidst the pandemic. The book was sold all over the world through Kindle.
Recently, the India distribution rights for the paperback version of the book have been bought by Invincible Publishers, a leading award-winning digital publishing house which is also making the book into a web series next year.

The book titled #Metoo highlights that every human is eligible for personal space. It illuminates the resilience of human beings who’ve lived through the trauma of sexual violence and inspires all of us to become more evolved and compassionate in our intimate connections. The book received accolades from the Times of India, Mr. Vivek Atray and many others. The foreword for the book has been written by Padma Shree Raghu Rai.

Early life

Karan Puri grew up in Hauz Khas, south Delhi, in a traditional upper middle-class Hindu family.
He is an alumnus of the reputed Modern School (Barakhamba Road) and graduated in Economics from the University of Rochester, New York, USA, with a citation in Finance from the leading Simon Business School. After a short professional stint in the US, he completed his full time MBA from International Management Institute, Delhi, in Marketing. He has also worked in Dubai, UAE, in Skyline Business Group founded by Mr. Kamal Puri, who is the founding president of Skyline University in Sharjah.
His father, Deepak Puri, served as Bureau Manager of Time Magazine, South Asia, for over 30 years, and his mother, Veena Puri, is a housewife. His wife, Anu Verma Puri, Msc. in Information Technology, hails from Jalandhar and is a software professional with a top Multinational IT firm based in the US. He has one sister, Megha Puri, an MBA in Tourism from Skyline Business School, who is a professional makeup artist.

Career

A seasoned marketing professional with 14 years’ corporate experience in top Multinationals like Zee Telefilms, Hindustan Coca-Cola and Ernst & Young, to name a few, is widely known as a lifestyle influencer and prominent food blogger.
After his stint in the corporate world, he took the plunge, joining a startup as a cofounder in January 2018 with a lifestyle digital startup in Gurugram, having youth icon and actor Rannvijay Singha as a brand ambassador/partner. The lifestyle city guide, which curates engaging content and is currently available in 11 cities, is an early mover which was founded in 2014 by its founder.
Karan writes for many leading websites including a top digital news portal Dkoding.in which has a major audience in the USA and India. He is also a mentor for a few startups and runs his own digital marketing consultancy.
Karan has been blogging for a decade. Currently, he is a leading social media influencer and has been covering restaurant and hotel properties across North India as a known food influencer.

He is on the panel of mostly all agencies as a renowned lifestyle blogger and has been nominated for blogger awards.
