Karanjeet Singh, publicly known as Karan Sandhawalia, is an Indian-Punjabi Actor, Singer and Songwriter. He is known for his role of ‘Lucky[1]’ from the Punjabi Web-Series Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree[2]
Early life[edit]
Karan Sandhawalia was born on 22 August 1994 in Ali Chak, Jalandhar District, Punjab, India to a Sikh family. His father, Shamsher Singh, is an employee of Doordarshan and his mother, Harbhajan Kaur, is a housemaker. He has one sibling, elder brother, Gaurav Sandhawalia. He completed his high school education from New St. Soldier Senior Secondary Public School in Jalandhar. He started his Acting and Singing career by participating in School competitions. Later he took music lessons from Late Master Satish and Nooran Sisters.
Career[edit]
Karan Sandhawalia made his acting debut in Pollywood movie Stupid 7[3] (2013) directed by Pali Bhupinder Singh in which he played the role of school-going kid ‘Udit’. After that, he did supporting roles in movies like Titoo MBA[4] and Kaun Kare Insaaf. He also joined a theater group name ‘Yuvaa Theatre’ where he learned in-depth about acting and performance art. Then Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree was the turning point of his acting career in which he played the character of a college-going student ‘Lucky[1]’. He also made his singing debut in Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree[2][5] with the song name ‘Nafaa[6]’ from the 8th episode. He also penned the lyrics for the title song of Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree[2][7] sung by Sharry Mann and music was produced by Mista Baaz. His upcoming projects are Gurmukh, Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan and Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree[2][7] (Season 2).
