Karen Akinsanya

Karen Akinsanya, Ph.D., is the Executive Vice-President, Chief Biomedical Scientist, and Head of Discovery R&D at Schrödinger, Inc.[1][2][3]

Akinsanya was born and raised in the United Kingdom and graduated from Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Imperial College, University of London with a Ph.D. in Endocrine Physiology and completed her post-doctoral training at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.[4][5]

Akinsanya worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals and later for Merck Research Lab beginning in 2005 after relocating to the United States in 2000.[4][5] Akinsanya remained at Merck until 2017 when she was hired to be Head of Discovery R&D at Schrödinger.[4]

Akinsanya serves on the scientific advisory boards of Thermo Fisher Scientific and Variant Bio Inc.[6][7]
