Anna Karina Rebuelta Teh-Limsico (born January 31, 1987), publicly known as Karina Teh, is a Filipino politician who is currently the Vice Mayor of Caloocan City, since 2022.[1]
Early life and career[edit]
Teh-Limsico was born to Ramon V. Te †, a human rights advocate and public interest lawyer who later served as a City Councilor (2007-2012)[2] in Caloocan and Analiza Rebuelta-Teh, an environmental lawyer and currently the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Finance, Information Systems, and Climate Change.[3] She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts Major in Communication Arts. Before fully entering politics, she worked as a researcher in the Department of National Defense and the Philippine Air Force. She also worked as a Segment Producer in the GMA Network morning news program Unang Hirit.
Political Career[edit]
Teh-Limsico’s political career began when she was elected as a Kagawad in Barangay 179 in Caloocan City from 2007 to 2013. In 2013, she ran as a Councilor under the ticket of former Mayor Oscar Malapitan. She then won and served as Caloocan City Councilor from the 1st district for three consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022.[4][5]
Vice Mayor Caloocan City (2022-present)[edit]
Anna Karina Teh-Limsico ran for Vice Mayor in 2022 with Along Malapitan as her running mate and mayoralty candidate. Teh-Limsico won the race by a huge margin of 324,568 votes (62.28%). She was inaugurated on June 30, 2022.[1][6][7] She is also one of the Regional Board of Directors of NCR Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines for term 2022-2025.[8] She was a recipient of Maynilad's Water Warrior Award for Advocacy Leadership at the World Water Day Philippines Awards 2023 (WWD.PH Awards) held last March 22 in Pasay City.[9]
