Karnali Yaks (Nepali: कर्णाली याक्स) is a professional franchise cricket team based in Karnali Province that competes in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The team was formed in 2024 to compete in the first season of the competition. The team is owned by Himalayan Builders & Engineers and is captained by marquee player Sompal Kami[1] and coached by Gyanendra Malla.[2][3]

In January 2024, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced that the inaugural season of the Nepal Premier League would take place in November and December 2024.[4][5][6] On 2 August 2024, CAN issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for franchise ownership. The Karnali franchise was sold to Himalayan Builders & Engineers for NPR.1.11 crore (US$ 83 Thousand).[7]

The team logo and name was revealed on 30 September 2024 in a ceremony held at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu.[8] The logo features a yak head in the center, with a mountain range in the background. The text "Karnali Yaks" is written below the image. The logo combines brown, blue, and yellow hues, creating a visually striking image.

Actress Swastima Khadka was signed as the 'Face of Karnali Yaks'.[9]The team's anthem is "Aayo Karnali" written and composed by US based artist Sujan "SOHM" Khanal.
