History
The village of Kasciuki is a Belarusian settlement believed to be built during the early days of the Russian Empire and currently located in the Vitebsk Region of modern-day Belarus. The village was previously under the Vitebsk Governorate which was formed back in 1802.
The Russian Giant
In 1876, a giant named Feodor Machnow was born here and would go on to become the tallest man in the world at that time. His height was unverified due to the Great War and the Russian Revolution as his wife attempted to update her husband's gravestone. The Russian media stated he was 9'3 but images claim he's no more than 7'10, causing a dispute in his height. If he really was 9'3, his height would have been greater than that of Robert Wadlow.[1]
