Kate Butler (born February 5, 1965) is an American actress who was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. She grew up in Annapolis, Maryland.
In 1983, she attended the School of Visual Arts. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she worked for screenwriter Steve Zaillian. She began her acting career in 1992 with a role in the Stephen Frear's film Hero. From 2005 to 2008, Butler lived and worked in New Zealand, acting in Fatal Contact, Bridge To Terabithia and 30 Days of Night and writing the screenplay Famous.
Butler currently lives and works in Los Angeles with her husband Brian and son Thomas.
