Kathleen Jowitt
Kathleen Jowitt was born in Winchester and now lives in Cambridge. She is the author of Speak its Name, her self published debut novel, which reached the final shortlist for the Betty Trask Prize in 2017 [1]. The book examines the pull of the sometimes conflicting aspects of sexuality, religion, friendships and university life. Her second novel, A Spoke in the Wheel, was released in early 2018 and focuses on a disgraced former professional cyclist attempting to rebuild a normal life to escape the infamy of his past.
Kathleen's books are heavily character focused, using normal every day situations to drive a story via interesting yet relate-able characters.
