Katie (Reichardt) Bishop is an American novelist from Des Moines, Iowa. Bishop is known for her stories chronicling the community leadership efforts of her grandfather, Bill Reichardt. She is also well-known for her activism in local communities, including elevating young women [1] and those who are marginalized.

History[edit]

Katie graduated from Dowling Catholic High School as Valedictorian and President of her class. She was an all-state athlete in cross-country and track. Katie later attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and graduated with a BA in engineering sciences. She was awarded the Dean's Plate award for outstanding contributions to the Dartmouth campus and community.

Business views[edit]

A strong proponent of equitable mentoring, Bishop has dedicated her works to empowering younger women in the workplace, most notably through The Best Seller. Before the publication of The Best Seller, Bishop was interviewed on January 20, 2020, by Hugh Tiddle and Jim Hamlin on Sales Chalk Talk[2]. She suggested that the younger generation Generation_Z pivot away from the "I deserve a mentor" attitude to "how can I add value to my mentor" perspective.

Writings[edit]

Bishop's second novel, The Best Seller, published by Camerado Publishing in 2020, is a business story inspired by her late grandfather, Bill Reichardt, a well-known businessman and community activist in Des Moines.[3]
