Kattappa is a fictional character of the two-part epic historical fiction film Baahubali, written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Arka Media Works. The character was created by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and was portrayed by Sathyaraj. The character first appeared in 2015 in The Beginning and later in The Conclusion (2017).

About the character

Kattappa is a skilled warrior and a loyal slave to the Mahishmati kingdom. Kattappa is a slave whose ancestors swore that their entire clan must put their lives on the line to save the ruler of Mahishmati. After the release of the first film, the character instantly became one of the most talked-about characters in Indian cinema, because he was revealed to be the traitor who murdered Amarendra Bahubali, the hero of the Baahubali blockbuster.
