Katya Prizhilyak, or Ekaterina Yrievna Prizhbilyak (Russian: Екатерина Юрьевна Прижбиляк; March 13, 1976, Moscow, USSR) Soviet film сhild actress.

Biography[edit]

Katya was born on March 13, 1976 in Moscow, her childhood was spent in a communal apartment on Granovsky Street (now Romanov Lane). At the age of 10, she was selected for the main role in the film "Island of Rusty General", which was released in 1988. The following year, she starred in the episodic role of Irochka in the film "Women who were lucky" and this is where her film career ended.

At present she is a housewife, she is raising her daughter Maria[1].

Island of Rusty General[edit]

When Katya was ten years old, she was accidentally seen by the assistant director, Olga Predybylova, who suggested that the girl immediately make a photographic test for the main role of Alisa Selezneva in the film. Director Katya also liked Valentine Hovenko. After examining about 3000 applicants for the role, they approved it. For the shooting, Katya had to learn how to swim. The first day of shooting was very hard, the girl even wanted to abandon the role, but my mother insisted on continuing the work.

The reviewers noted that Katya was too young for this role and her appearance did not match the image of Alice; with this partly due to the fact that the film was unsuccessful. "For the role of Alice chose a dry, respectable girl who did not evoke emotional interest in the young spectator. And the film failed. Nobody knows him, although he was shown on television three times, "K. Bulychev noted in an interview with the magazine "Children's Literature".
