Keion Dwayne Henderson (born 6 July 1981) is the Pastor of The LightHouse Church in Houston, Texas.[1]
Early life
Henderson grew up with his mother and two siblings. He spent most of his early childhood in Gary, Indiana and East Chicago, Indiana. He delivered his first sermon before he started high school.[2]
Education
Henderson attended elementary school and middle school in Gary and East Chicago, Indiana. He graduated from East Chicago Central high school and went on to Indiana University Purdue University at Fort Wayne, where he received a basketball scholarship.
Career
While a senior in college, Henderson organized the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with 5 people, later changing the name to New Horizon Baptist Church. Henderson later went off to attain his master's degree in theology at the Faith Evangelical Seminary School located in Tacoma, Washington.
The Lighthouse Church
The Lighthouse Church has helped many people, from creating a community program benefiting the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing by raising $5000 for the Red Cross, donating 22,500 pounds of clothes to South Africa and South America with Project Global Fashion, and creating a community program benefiting the victims of the West Texas chemical explosion, for which they raised $5000 to go to the Red Cross. They also partnered with community leaders of multiple cultures to commemorate the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. Over 2,000 people are now a part of the church, and construction of a 30,000 square foot facility began in March of 2014.[3][4]
Personal life
Henderson is married and has three daughters.
