Hartley has spent his career in enterprise software, supply chain, and procurement technology, holding senior leadership roles across several global software companies.[1][3] In November 2022, he was appointed CEO of LevaData and joined its board of directors.[1][2] LevaData provides an AI-powered platform that helps procurement and sourcing teams optimize direct material costs and manage supply risk at the manufacturer part level.[2]
Before joining LevaData, Hartley served as senior vice president and head of sales for North America at Ivalua, where he was responsible for sales across the United States, Canada, and Latin America for the company’s source-to-pay solutions.[1] He was previously group vice president for North America at Blue Yonder, leading vertical sales teams for manufacturing-focused supply chain planning, execution, and commerce solutions.[1][3]

In addition to his role at LevaData, Hartley has acted as an advisor to investors and private equity firms on supply chain technology and digital transformation initiatives through his advisory firm The Abyss Group.[1][3][5]

Hartley publishes essays and commentary on his Substack newsletter, where he writes about supply chain disruption, procurement strategy, customer-centric growth, and the adoption of specialized AI tools for sourcing.[4][9][10][11] His writing emphasizes themes such as moving beyond spreadsheets for complex supply chains, balancing rapid growth with customer satisfaction, and evaluating build-versus-buy decisions for enterprise software.[9][10][11]
He has contributed articles and commentary to industry publications, including Supply & Demand Chain Executive and other trade media focused on procurement, sourcing, and supply chain resilience.[3][12][5]

Hartley has been recognized within the supply chain and procurement community for his leadership in digital transformation.
