Kelsey Cook

Kelsey Cook (born April 10, 1989)[1] is an American comedian and podcaster.

Early life

Cook was born and raised in Spokane, Washington.[1] She and her parents are professional foosball players, and her father has also won championships in poetry slam and yo-yo.[2][3] She attended Washington State University.[1]

Career

Cook performed stand-up comedy for the first time in college. After graduation, she spent five years pursuing comedy in Seattle before eventually moving to Los Angeles in 2015.[1]

Cook has performed on various TV networks, including Comedy Central, MTV, and Fuse. She has appeared twice on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, once in 2018 and once in 2023, and has toured as an opening act for fellow comedian Jim Norton.[4][5][6] She performs frequently at clubs in New York and Los Angeles, including The Comedy Cellar, Laugh Factory and Gotham Comedy Club.[3] Her debut album, Savor It, was released in 2018, and her hour-long special The Hustler was uploaded to YouTube on March 9, 2023.[6]

In addition to her stand-up work, Cook hosts the podcast Self-Helpless with fellow comedian Delanie Fischer, as well as the web series Wrists of Fury, in which she plays foosball against other comedians.[3]

Personal life

Cook married Kane Holloway, another comedian, in 2019. They divorced in 2020, shortly before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.[6] She currently lives with her boyfriend in Minnesota.[7]

Cook suffers from irritable bowel syndrome and is severely allergic to peanuts and latex.[6][8][9] She is close friends with fellow comedian Taylor Tomlinson.[7]
