Kelsey Phelps Klein is a Californian winemaker and entrepreneur.[1] She is a granddaughter of Napa wine pioneer Joseph Phelps.[2][3][4]
Personal life and education[edit]
Phelps Klein grew up not knowing whether she would go into the family business.[5] She studied urban studies at Stanford University, graduating in 2008.[1] She then attended University of Pennsylvania Law School, graduating with a JD in 2013.[6]
From 2013 to 2015, Phelps Klein practiced corporate law for the Silicon Valley-based firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Wine Career[edit]
Phelps Klein left law practice in 2015 to join her family in the wine industry. She often represents Joseph Phelps Vineyards at wine auctions and events throughout the United States.[7]
In 2015, she founded her own company, Seppi Sparkling Wine, producing California-style sparkling wine.[8] Phelps Klein's first vintage of Seppi was in 2017.[9]
