Kelsey Nichole Turner (born May 05, 1993), also known as Badd Barbie, is an American businesswoman, social media influencer, and professional fashion model who has appeared in several magazines, including Playboy Italy, Maxim magazine, and OneTen Magazine.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4] Turner also started an apparel company in 2021 with her business partner and named it Badd Barbie.^[5]^[6]^[7]

A former Playboy model and her ex-boyfriend were accused of killing a Salinas psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas Burchard.^[8] She was arrested by FBI agents and Las Vegas cops in Stockton, California, on March 21, 2019, and is currently on trial.^[9]^[10]^[11]^[12]

Early life and education[edit]

Turner was born on May 05, 1993, in Norfolk, Virginia, and grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She completed her education at Arkansas State University. Later, she started fashion modeling as a lingerie and swimsuit model.^[13]^[14]^[15] During her modeling days, she has also lived in Salinas, CA, and Las Vegas, NV.

She worked for several magazines and websites, including Playboy Italy, Maxim magazine, and OneTen Magazine. Soon, she moved to Las Vegas.^[16]^[17]^[18]^[19]

Career[edit]

Turner started her career in fashion modeling as a lingerie and swimsuit model and worked with Maxim, Playboy, Players Magazine, Fire and Ice, Modelmania, and OneTen magazines.^[20]^[21]^[22]^[23] She also made up the cover page of OneTen magazine, Conceited magazine, and Dream Vixens. Turner is also known for her appearance in movies, including The Promise in 2011 and Wally got Wasted in 2018.^[24]^[25]^[26]^[27]

Controversy[edit]

Turner and her ex-boyfriend are in custody for the murder of Dr. Thomas Burchard, a child psychiatrist.^[28] They are accused of beating the psychiatrist to death with a baseball bat, then stuffing his body into the trunk of Turner's Mercedes.^[29]^[30]^[31]^[32]^[33] Judy Earp, the victim’s fiancé, claims that Burchard had given Turner around $300,000 to be his “sugar baby” over the years.

Her car was found a few days later on a desert road outside Las Vegas. She was arrested by FBI agents and Las Vegas cops in Stockton, California, on March 21, 2019.^[34]^[35]^[36]^[37]^[38]^[39] For the last three years, she has been on trial.^[40]^[41]^[42]

Turner was supposed to be on the show “Love After Lockup”. She shot two months’ worth of footage which was not aired because the contract negotiations did not work.^[43]

Turner signed a plea deal in late 2022. She entered an Alford plea and stipulated to facing 10 to 25 years in prison when she is due to be sentenced in January 2023.^[44]

Personal life[edit]

Turner has also been a victim of domestic violence by her ex-boyfriend.^[45] She moved to California in her late teens. She lived in the central city of Salinas with two children before moving to Nevada.^[46]

Turner also had an interest in fitness, cooking, reading, and music. Later, she started her own business with her business partner with the name of Badd Barbie.^[47]^[48]^[49]^[50]

Turner is bisexual and has dated several models. She is an active supporter of the LGBTQ community and the cannabis industry.

In 2010, Turner married Taylor Holmes and divorced in 2013. Later in 2014, she married Joe Turner and divorced in 2017.
