Publication history[edit]

Kemono Cafe webhosting website came about after the Katbox, a webcomic hosting site founded in 2004 that specialized in furry webcomics, closed its doors after 15 years in operation in 2019 and the need for a proper substitute was in demand.[6] Of the Katbox crew, the following artists and webcomics joined Kemono Cafe: Cervelet's Addictive Science; Nekonny's Caribbean Blue, iMew, Paprika, and Practice Makes Perfect; Avencri's The Eye of Ramalach and Tina of the South; Chalodillo's Knighthood and Las Lindas; and Mastergodai's Rascals.[7]

Kemono Cafe webcomic is in article and video format. The first article, titled Sandy, released on December 20, 2019, and centered on Sandy's work life in the real world. The next article, titled The Ticket, released on February 1, 2020, and told the tale of how Sandy found a ticket to Fable. Kemono Cafe released an introductory YouTube video that introduces the site and the various characters in Fable.
