Kent Hanson (born October 14, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who most recently played for the Windsor Express of the Canadian NBLC.
College career[edit]
Hanson played four seasons between 2016-2020 for the Carleton Knights in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. In 2020, he was named a DIII All-American Honorable Mention.[1] He was also named a finalist for the Jostens Trophy, becoming the second male Knights player in history to be named a finalist for the award.[2] He averaged 20.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a senior, while leading the MIAC in three-point makes (64) and three-point percentage (44.8%).[3] Hanson finished his collegiate career with 1,682 points.[1]
Professional career[edit]
On January 23, 2021, Hanson signed his first professional contract with BC Aktobe of the National Basketball League of Kazakhstan.[4] He averaged 20.6 points and 11.8 rebounds in the NBL of Kazakhstan, receiving Kazakhstan Player of The Week Honors three times during that season.[5]
On June 28, 2021, Hanson signed with the Icelandic club Hrunamenn of the Iceland D1 League.[6] While playing for Hrunamenn, he averaged 25.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.[7] His performance earned him Player of The Week Honors in Iceland four times over the course of the year and he was named Iceland D1 All-Second Team for the 2021-2022 season.[8]
On April 15, 2022, Hanson signed with the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada. He averaged 5.8 points per game in the NBLC.[7]
