13 Block is a French rap group from Sevran(93) France which consists of four members, Zefor, Zed, OldPee and Stavo. Before the group was established, Oldpee and Stavo had been in the different group named 'DeTess'. In 2012, Zefor and Zed joined the group, thus the 13 block members were complete.

History

The group’s name was influenced heavily by their mixtape, XIII which was released in 2014 and this gave them a vivid idea of what they wanted to be recognized as, 13 block. Within this mixtape, a song entitled "Comment Accepter" (translated to English : How to accept) has served as their group symbolic genre because it showed that they were inspired by their childhood experiences and told the story literally via the lyrics. Their style lives on until the present day as they continue narrating their experiences by rapping.

Despite the fact that they had been struggling with their music in the term of popularity, at the early stage of their formation, their determination prevailed as in 2015, they were invited to perform side by side with the well-known French rapper Kaaris in the project le bruit de mon âme.  They were performing a rap entitled "Wildfire" alongside K double A, a French rapper. This was the proof that they were already at the same par with the big names in French music industry. In 2016, they, once again, were performing with other famous French artists including Slovakia and Ninho. In the same year, 13 block released their mixtape entitled Urban Violence Riot.

They continue their chain of success with the publication of their firm album Triple S on 6 April. Six days after, on 12 April, they appeared on Arte to promote their very first album. This album was a very enormous success for them as it was ranked fifth in the French music chart selling at its first week of publication. In 2019, they published their second album entitled BLO  which consists of four singles.
